This Sunday a Heavy Metal bag will be part of a silent auction to benefit Fairy Goodmothers in Columbus, Ohio. And ladies, it’s not just any old bag, it is THE bag that appeared on the Today Show. I will also be attending the fundraiser, so if you happen to stop by, please say hello!
Fairy Goodmothers is a charity that supplies prom attire for girls who cannot afford to purchase it themselves. Each year they create a boutique (pictured above) where girls come in and pick out not only a dress, but jewelry, shoes and a purse as well. Last year over 1,000 outfits were provided. This year Fairy Goodmothers hopes to provide 1,500. Wow!
If you’re not in the area, but would like to get involved you can donate here. I love supporting this organization because you’re not just buying a dress, you’re promoting confidence and self-esteem in young women. I know we can all agree on the importance of those feelings as women of any age.
And speaking of self-esteem, I have just enough to show you this picture of me at my senior prom with my friends Meghan and Mandy. That’s some big hair on me, but I can promise you it was very chic.
