Today the ambassador bags were supposed to go out. Alas, there was a printing issue with their business cards (wrong paper) so we’re hoping for a ship date of tomorrow. While I’m frustrated with the printing process, I trust my printing partner and know we’ll get it right. I just hate making anyone wait. I’m sure you know the feeling.
The issue was I wanted a certain thickness to the paper. The same as my business cards. These ambassadors need know they are very important team members. They’ll be getting the same treatment as any full time employee would – a real bag, the real packaging and real business cards.
Besides, that’s just the way I do things.
Speaking of the ambassadors, I’ve had lots of requests for other ambassador programs. One of the biggest reasons I’m doing this program is to test the college market. Is there a desire for a nice bag among students? Or are they happy to shove their laptop in a backpack? Will they put the Alesya Bag on their Christmas list? Or do they need Target gift cards more?
I already know there is a need in the professional market. More specifically, thanks to Corporette I’ve also seen a need in the law firm market. If you can think of another market that’s under served, I’d love to hear about it. Perhaps another ambassador program will be in order!

I say an ambassador program for creative types is in order – social media, graphic design, interior design. We’re nuts for well designed bags like yours!
Lauren – interesting! I often wonder if I’m cool enough for these folks. Or how to reach the masses? I suppose I could send a bag to Facebook and hope Zuckerburg’s girlfriend carries it? Other ideas?
Of course you’re cool enough! Think about it though – creative people, no matter what industry, appreciate good design on ANY type of product. It’s the reason you’ll find most creative types carrying a MacBook Pro, pecking away on their iPhone, posting photos with Instagram.
I would actually pick a few girls at big creative or marketing agencies that are very active on social media and send *them* a bag. Make it personal – it’s what you’re so good at! The price point of your bag makes it something that’s luxury, but within reach of many of these girls in their mid 20s-early 30s.
If they’re anything like me or my friends in that industry, they love to talk about things they love. And a beautifully designed bag to carry around your precious Apple cargo is something to gush about.
Alesya, your product is so incredibly good looking, I’d imagine that the “Hollywood” market would be a good fit. Plus, that’d accelerate your visibility to many other markets.
Thanks for the idea Dan! I must admit I’m at a loss on how to do this. I sent my bag to one celebrity type and haven’t seen any results.
I agree with Corporette – definitely the legal market.
Have you tried going outside of the U.S.? An old high school friend of mine owns a Public Relations firm in London. Her name/firms name is Jori White, PR – she is from SE Michigan and like so many Michigan girls stylish and beautiful!
(You can Google her) –
Also I think your bag is wonderful for Real Estate agents! ~ and I love my bag… I get lot’s of compliments~ I have given your name out a few times. However, there is an agent who has a Luxury Home Seminar around the country (her home base is in Austin TX) and she certifies agents as Luxury Home Specialists. Her name is Laurie Moore-Moore. She is also incredibly stylish. (You can Google her)~
Just some thoughts hope they help………….
Alesya,
I am a physician and have been looking for a bag like this for such a long time! It is a great invention for our field because you have places to keep personal things (bills, laptop, etc.) as well as a place for clinic notes, my stethoscope and other research. I know that some of the ladies I work with would definitely be interested. I live in Charleston and have been putting off purchasing one because I wanted to see if you have a shop here in town or if the internet is the only way to purchase at this point.
Thanks!
Aleysa,
I’m in the corporate world and there is absolutely a need for this type of bag. I’ve already showed the site to 3 or 4 or my colleagues and we’re all drooling over the style, function, and practicality of your design. I think some sort of Fortune 500 ambassador program would be a great way to introduce your offering to the women looking for an amazing work bag.
Thanks!
Alesya,
Found you from Broke Socialite. Along the lines of Lauren’s idea, I was thinking creative types also: makeup artists, hairstylists, etc. I saw many people lugging around horribly unfashionable bags at the Makeup Show in Chicago this past June. Some were bloggers, but others keep digital portfolios and the like with them as well.
I just discovered your bags after searching forever! I think you should have an ambassador program for teachers! We always have tons of stuff to lug around and this is perfect!
Thanks for the suggestion MTS! That might be fun to do something for teachers. Interesting!
